    2017 - The Year Ahead for Employers - A Legislative Update


    During this session, Don will review executive action taken prior to President Obama’s final days in office, executive action taken by President Trump and legislative developments which will impact employers in 2017.  In addition, as HR Florida’s State Government Affairs Director, he will provide an update on workplace legislation that has been introduced in the Florida Legislature.




    Donald C. Works, III, is Managing Principal of the Orlando office of Jackson Lewis P.C. where he specializes in all aspects of employment law representing management.  Mr. Works is a graduate of Auburn University (B.S., Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, 1977) and the University of Miami (J.D., 1981).  Mr. Works currently serves as the State Director of Government Affairs for HR Florida.  In addition, he is Past President of the Central Florida Human Resource Association and the Human Resource Association of Broward County.  A SHRM “Senior Certified Professional” and HRCI “Senior Professional in Human Resources,” he is a regular speaker and has published several articles on wage/hour and employment law topics.  Mr. Works has been recognized by his peers in the publications, “Best Lawyers in America” and Florida’s “Super Lawyers.”
