    You’re not alone!!! North Central Florida Society for Human Resource Management has put together a dynamic conversation on Cross-cultural communication and we want you to join us on October 10, 2017 from 8:00am to 12:00pm at the Best Western Gateway Grand (breakfast provided).

    Ricky Baez, from Baezco Learning and fresh off his 2017 HR Florida presentation, will be talking to us about the importance of positively engaging your multi-cultural workforce. Donna Burdge, CEO of Burgeoning Vines Consulting, will help us find out who we have in the room through big-data and the Predictive Index. Don Works, from Jackson Lewis and HR Florida State Council will discuss how a company’s corporate culture may impact the outcome of employment-related and other legal claims.

    Speaker Bios:

    Efrain “Ricky” Baez Jr. is a published human resources professional specializing in strategically aligning HR competencies to business goals with a down to earth, common sense approach that is evident to both executives and front line employees. By focusing on the "H" in "HR" Ricky create solid partnerships and minimize legal risk in a fun and vibrant learning environment. He has a passion for helping business leaders go from "here" to "there" using talent management, training and development, and leadership coaching strategies. Ricky is a four- year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, a Master of Human Resources (MHR) degree from Rollins College, a SPHR certification from the Human Resources Certification Institute, and a SHRM-SCP certification from the Society for Human Resources Management. Ricky is also a former faculty member for human resources related courses for the college of Undergraduate Business and Management for South University and the University of Phoenix, and current faculty for the Master of Human Resources program at Rollins College in Winter Park, FL.

      

    Donna Burdge is CEO of Burgeoning Vines Consulting, bringing decades of professional experience in global human resources to corporations ready to transform.  Through her use of predictive analytics, organizations can tap into the unique aspects of each employee to optimize their workforce.  As a people consultant, Donna delivers fast end-to-end solutions through leadership coaching, team building, mentoring and organizational strategy.

    Donna is a past global director of human resources for Sandvik Mining where she built a culture of engagement, agility and motivation throughout the leadership and workforce in a global setting.  Her experience in human resources in both the public and private sectors includes the University of Florida, Nova Southeastern University, Southern Methodist University and Hyatt Hotels & Resorts Corporation.  Her passion for employee development has led to awards such as the Davis Productivity Award, Manager of the Future and was appointed Board Member on the Florida’s Workforce Board.

    Donna Burdge holds a BA in Psychology from Florida State University and a Master’s in Human Resources, with honors, from Nova Southeastern University.  She lives in Florida with her husband and beloved Labrador.  Her son is a rising sophomore at The George Washington University, in Washington D.C.

      

    Donald C. Works, III, is Managing Principal of the Orlando office of Jackson Lewis P.C. where he specializes in all aspects of employment law representing management.  Mr. Works is a graduate of Auburn University (B.S., Personnel Management and Industrial Relations, 1977) and the University of Miami (J.D., 1981).  Mr. Works currently serves as the State Director of Government Affairs for HR Florida.  In addition, he is Past President of the Central Florida Human Resource Association and the Human Resource Association of Broward County.  A SHRM “Senior Certified Professional” and HRCI “Senior Professional in Human Resources,” he is a regular speaker and has published several articles on wage/hour and employment law topics.  Mr. Works has been recognized by his peers in the publications, “Best Lawyers in America” and Florida’s “Super Lawyers.”
