Putting the Brakes on the Revolving Door -
Why Retention Matters and Getting Your Managers on Board

presented by: Chad Sorensen from Adaptive Solutions

Summary:   As the economy steadily improves, pressures continue mount for companies to attract and retain talent.  Unfortunately, managers often don’t understand the positive and negative impact they can have on retaining their employees.  It’s commonly known that employees stay or leave a company because of a manager, however what is not often discussed is the negative effect disengaged employees have on the entire company and what the manager can do about it.

A major part of the solution is helping managers understand their role in retaining employees through engagement, coaching, development, and performance management.

Objectives:   Specific objectives accomplished in this session will include being able to develop business metrics that tie employee engagement and retention to business  results and being able to create strategies to improve those results. Participants will also be able to understand the importance of establishing ongoing developmental relationships with key employees in their department to improve the retention of those employees.  Finally, participants will be able to create tools that will help managers identify disengaged employees and develop ways to improve their performance and minimize the negative impact they have on business results.
