Program: Healthcare Coverage & the Current Landscape

Brian P. Brown - Director, Group Sales & Retention, North and Central Florida AvMed

Brian will provide an overview of the requirements for coverage as it pertains to small and large group employers, ACA reporting requirements, and the role of the health plan in assisting employers in meeting those requirements. Additionally, he will provide a review of the current market landscape and strategies for purchasing health insurance and leveraging all of the tools that are available via your health carrier.

Brian Brown is the Director, Group Sales & Retention for North and Central Florida. He is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with AvMed existing clients, as well as new sales opportunities in the small group, large group and ASO market segments in the North and Central regions of Florida. He is also responsible for agent consultant relationship management and development.

In this role, Mr. Brown has wide-ranging experience in developing and implementing innovative benefit program solutions for private and public sector clients. He has extensive experience with governmental clients and understands the critical role that benefits play in recruiting and retaining top talent and how to navigate the legislative process to implement solutions.

In addition to his Director, Group Sales & Retention role, Mr. Brown is leading the effort to redefine the member experience for AvMed members, focusing on developing easy, engaging tools and processes to provide members with the complete health and wellness experience.   

Mr. Brown joined AvMed in March 2007. He has over 15 years of experience in service, sales and marketing positions in multiple industries. Prior to coming to AvMed, he held a leadership position with a Specialty Health Organization that focused on wellness and alternative healthcare plans.

Mr. Brown is involved with the Association of Health Underwriters, Chamber of Commerce, Children’s Home Society and the American Heart Association.  He served as the Chairman of the Judges Panel for the Prudential Productivity Awards.
