    Mary Norman
    Chapter President

    CARC-Advocates for Citizens with Disabilities, Inc

    A proud native Floridian born in Hollywood, Mary Norman has called North Florida home since 1999. With a rich career spanning diverse roles in the healthcare system, Mary has made an indelible mark in Pharmacy, Case Management, Risk Management, Medical Staff Services, Human Resources, and Plant Operations/Emergency Management during her tenure at Shands Lake Shore.

    Following the hospital's closure in 2020, Mary transitioned to her current role as HR Director at CARC, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving adults with disabilities in Columbia and surrounding counties. A graduate of St. Leo University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration, Mary brings her passion for Human Resources to life by fostering positive workplace cultures, solving complex problems, and embracing the multifaceted challenges of her role.

    Mary finds great fulfillment in helping employees thrive and in strengthening CARC’s position as a vital community resource.

    Outside of work, Mary enjoys soaking up the Florida sunshine outdoors with family and friends, diving into a good book, and staying active at the gym.

    Keyosha Monroe, SHRM-CP

    Keyosha Monroe is a passionate SHRM-CP HR professional who believes that a strong HR function is strategic to the success of any organization no matter the size or the industry. She has been working in HR since 2016 and has experience in core areas of the employee life cycle such as recruitment and retention, employee relations, benefits administration, termination, coaching, and HR compliance, FMLA, ADA, workers compensation, and talent acquisition, and most recently payroll. She has a passion for people and believes that if employers commit to the wellbeing of employees that the employees will commit to the mission and vision of the organization.

    I was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA, where I developed a strong work ethic and a desire to help others. In 2017, I relocated to Gainesville, FL, beginning a new chapter in both my personal and professional life. My career began in human resources within the retail industry, where I spent many years developing my skills in employee relations and benefits administration.

    Kelly George, MPS, SHRM-CP, PHR

    Kelly George has more than 30 years of human resources experience within the financial, environmental consulting and retirement community industries. She manages employee relations, administers wages and salaries, enforces affirmative action and equal employment, immigration, and employment law issues. Ms. George provides benefits administration and analysis, develops and enforces policies, coaches employees, and manages procurement and administration. Her responsibilities include talent recognition and acquisition, employee engagement, conflict and dispute resolution, succession planning, training and development, performance management, workers compensation, and OSHA recordkeeping. Ms. George has served as the administrator for 401(k) Plans and Welfare Benefit Plans. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from the University of Florida and a Master’s degree in Human Resources and Employment Relations from Pennsylvania State University.

    Roger Morales

    Roger Morales is a Vice President and Relationship Manager for the Marion, Alachua, Columbia, and Lowndes County in the Florida and South Georgia markets in Business Banking at Bank of America.

    In this capacity, his responsibilities include leading a team of specialists focused on understanding each client’s unique needs to deliver strategic financial guidance and solutions. Roger’s mission is to help local companies thrive by achieving their business goals, no matter how simple or complex.

    Throughout his 22-year banking career, Roger has served mid-sized companies throughout the United States and Latin America markets to support their commercial banking needs. To help create a more sustainable future for the companies and communities he serves, Roger volunteers with not-for-profit organizations focused on ending hunger, most recently with Bread of The Mighty Food Bank and Catholic Charities Gainesville. In addition, he also serves on the Bank of America Charitable Foundation in the Alachua area.

    Roger resides in Gainesville, Florida and enjoys spending time at UF Gator sporting events and Camping with his wife, two daughters and their miniature schnauzer.

    Carolynn Buchanan

    Carolynn Buchanan is president and owner of Spherion - Gainesville, FL, formerly known as Tempforce of Gainesville. With over 45 years of extensive human resource experience in analyzing staffing requirements and providing cost effective solutions, Carolynn provides hands-on management of daily operations, quality assurance, and satisfaction clients and talents. She has been a member of the local NCF-SHRM chapter for over 15 years and has served on the board for the last 12 years. Overall, her experience in staffing and recruiting has provided her the tools necessary to help people with talent acquisition and job placement. She lives in Florida with her family and enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.

    Nancy is an HR Professional with over 28 years’ experience serving employees and employers in the Gainesville area. Industries of interest are Environmental, Research & Development, Engineering & Technical, and Manufacturing. Attended University of Florida, Santa Fe College and graduated from St Leo University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration & Management. Member of the Society for Human Resource Management, HR Florida State Council, and former President for the North Central Florida SHRM Chapter. Volunteer interests are related to workforce readiness, talent coaching, environmental and natural resources. Personal interests include lifelong learning, travel, family & friends, pets, being near water, fast cars and good food & drink.

    Leslie has been in the Gainesville area since 1992. Soon after having her son in 2018, she decided to leave the sales life and join the HR community. Since then she has earned her SHRM-CP, and has hit the ground running to gain the knowledge and experience to advance her career in the field. She enjoys her work life balance by spending time with her husband, son, “Florida Yellow Dog”, and Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd Mix. She loves reading and getting creative in her She-Shed.
